Since 2007, Kristi and I have been running Beyond the Trees out of our homes and our favorite table by the window at the local coffee shop. But now our business has grown enough to sustain our first “real” office!
We have joined about 50 other Cincinnati-based entrepreneurs at the Hamilton County Business Center (HCBC) in Norwood, OH. Located a few streets away from Xavier University, the red brick building is a former paint factory that was renovated to house and support emerging companies. Our suite is on the top floor, and is quite retro. We love the high ceilings and ambient light that streams through a wall of windows.
By working in the same space together, Kristi and I can bat ideas (and to-do’s) back and forth more easily. To support more book projects, we purchased powerful computers, printer/scanners, and even our first company server. And as unapologetic bibliophiles, we have two large bookcases to hold our many volumes on personal history, graphic design and writing.
