Every life, every family, has stories; stories that go beyond the family tree to the real heart of who and what you are. At Beyond the Trees our passion is to help you tell your stories, and preserve them in keepsake form for generations to come. From a family history going back generations to the tale of your last beach vacation, we can help you tell the stories of your life.
Beyond the Trees is the brainchild of two Cincinnati women with stories of our own to tell. We are like many of you, raising children and sending them out into the world, dealing with the idea of parents growing older, occasionally losing friends or loved ones - living life. But to us each life event or transition calls out to be remembered and documented before it is forgotten. Most of our ideas come directly from our own life experiences or those of our consultants, so our products and advice are grounded in first hand knowledge of how it feels to send a first-born off to college, train for a marathon, or tell the story of a beloved parent.
A recent interview on The FlyPod.com New Media Network series "More Than A Paycheck" tells the story of how and why we started Beyond the Trees, and what stokes our passion for personal history and memory books.
Jennifer Sauers: For two decades she worked as a psychiatric nurse, a clinical research project manager, and a technical writer. With an interest in genealogy, she can trace back to some of her tenth generation ancestors, but wonders about the stories behind their names. Jennifer is determined that her own family’s legacy will be well-preserved, and has dozens of scrapbooks to prove it. She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Association of Personal Historians, is a freelance writer, and is an active community volunteer.
Kristine Woodworth: With a background in marketing, including an M.B.A. Kristi spent the first twenty years of her working career in market research, consulting with clients in all types of industries to design studies to meet their research needs and then analyzing and presenting the results. She has spent many years as an avid sports mom and car pool driver and is an active school and community volunteer. In her second career, with Beyond the Trees, she focuses her interest in family history and life stories to help capture people's stories before they are lost.
Welcome to our world...where everyone's story deserves to be remembered!
